This role will support the senior management team that is developing, constructing and operating large scale offshore wind projects which will provide affordable, clean energy and will have a transformational impact on local communities.
Avangrid Renewables' offshore business is located in Boston, Massachusetts.
Purpose This role will require the individual to work closely with Vineyard Wind 1's Director, Site Operations and site operations team.
It is expected that the contract manager will support the site operations team with contracting strategies that appropriately address risk and manage expectations of service.
This role will include working closely with other teams from the Legal, Insurance, Financial and Procurement teams to ensure contracts are managed effectively.
Belonging to the Offshore Operations Team and reporting to the Director, O&M Contracts, the Contract Manager will assist in defining contracting strategies and plans, tendering, negotiating and (in some cases) managing offshore and site service contracts.
This role will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and creating procedures, to support site functions.
In addition, the individual will assist in the management of contractual & commercial risks and seek out opportunities to optimize and drive the performance of the service supplier contracts.
Responsibilities The Senior Contract Manager shall ensure Contractors adhere to defined guidelines, processes and procedures for all site operations assigned.
Assisting with the tendering, negotiation, and management of service contracts for Vineyard Wind 1 project.
Attendance and contractual support in meetings with Contractors on site to ensure all parties are aware of any restrictions during daily Operational activities Provide correct contractual and commercial implementation of contractors reporting, collection of records as well as adequate administration of claims and variations for any event.
Support the site operations team with contracting strategies that appropriately address risk and manage expectations of service, including work products, timing, and tracking deliverables which will include monitoring major milestone dates, KPIs, contract compliance and the overall progress of contracts.
Process claims and variations by following a controlled and agreed manner in accordance to Project specifics and contract terms Assist in the handling of Defect Liability Period claims deriving from project's construction contracts.
Work with the site operations team to develop cost effective planning and ensure Contractors are delivering on O&M activities.
Assumption of economic responsibility (e.
g.
, reviewing deliverables against invoices, work orders, POs, running contract costs, KPIs, supporting the management of site budget and reporting according to processes).
Liaising and supporting the site operations team to co-ordinate a multidisciplinary team which may consist of HV Electrical Managers, WTG & BOP Technicians, Windfarm Operators and other employees to ensure site activities follow the contractual obligations.
Co-ordination of procurement and tender activities for O&M services/equipment and training/educating to project teams on key risk areas, such as scope of work, price adjustment mechanisms and applicable tariffs.
Facilitate delivery of the project's interests in preparing for negotiations with the contractors; Undertake detailed contract reviews and analysis allowing wider team to better interpret and apply key contract provisions on the day-to-day operational clauses of the contract Make commercial recommendations and provide advice on key commercial risks to the Lead or Senior Contract Managers on commercial issues and risks in existing contracts.
In addition, the individual will support in the Supply Chain strategy for the project:
Devising the most economically advantageous multi- contract solutions.
Ensuring procurement best practices and sound risk allocation principles are maintained.
Provision for management of interfaces across several concurrent supply chain contracts.
Encouraging supply chain growth.
This will include working with senior executives in supply chain companies, regional development agencies, local authorities and other stakeholders.
Skills and Requirements Education & Experience Required Degree and professional qualification in relevant discipline -Engineering, Contract Management, Legal background, Project Management, Construction Management, or commercially orientated qualification.
IT literate, with the ability to operate MS Office systems and other IT-based project management software.
(knowledge and previous experience of SAP is advantageous) Extensive commercial, contractual, technical, and practical knowledge and industry standards preferably in renewable energy, offshore regulations and/or oil-gas.
Experience managing, evaluating, and selecting Equipment and service and maintenance related supplier (preferably within the energy industry) Experience with Requests for Proposals and the tender processes for contracts Experience tracking material and service costs and material and service performance Extensive experience in the management of multidisciplinary contracting strategies.
Proven track record delivering large, complex, multidisciplinary contracts preferable in a renewable energy environment.
Proactive and diligent approach with a high degree of self-motivation and flexibility in the event of unforeseen site activities Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and delivering against multiple targets Ability to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing working environment and demonstrate a positive approach to change within a team.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
